9 Months Later

Something, or should I someone, has been keeping me busy the past nine months....

It's been a hectic, but good busy.  I just started my summer break from work so plan on writing and connecting with the social media world again.

Stay tuned and thanks for checking in.

Under the Weather

I am behind, behind, behind.  I still need to write about Sadie's birth story, but have been a bit delayed.  We have been busy getting use to taking care of a brand-new baby, but I was also hospitalized for four days because of an infection from my c-section!  That was definitely not on my agenda.

I will write soon, but wanted to give a little bit of an update as to what was holding me up.

Here is a little love from Sadie until we are back again....

We are over the moon!

Final Pregnancy Recap...

Beginning height/ weight? 5'4 and I'd rather not say :)
What you weigh now? A lot.  I have gained around 40 lbs, a lot more than I wanted to, but it happens.  I am committed to getting healthy and in shape after the baby is there.
Due date? Some of the people I see say 9/1, others say 9/6.  I go to a Army hospital so I see a lot of different doctors, midwives, and nurses.  It looks like we are going in on 8/31 to be induced.
Gender? A girl.
Name? Sadie Charlotte.
Nursery colors/theme? Purple/yellow/grey.
Stretch marks? Yes, but they will be covered up in a bathing suit at least.
Do you have braxton hicks? Yes.  I have been having contractions, but I don't always completely recognize them.  I am waiting for them to be really painful, I think I'll know then.
Did you get any medical issues? My blood pressure is a little high so they have been watching that and have been going to non-stress tests for the last few weeks.  No other symptoms though.
Have you been checked for dilation/effaced? Yes last Wednesday after I fell.  Only 1 cm so far.
How much does baby weigh? Not sure, but at 34 weeks she was close to 6 lbs.  That makes me nervous for how big she is going to be!
Have you started nesting? I am at the point where I am over cleaning.  Everything is as ready as it is going to get.  My feet and ankles are so swollen and housework tires me out.
Latest craving? Ice cream.
Bags packed? They are ready to go except for a few things that I need to through in there; make-up, blow dryer, phone charger.
If yes, are they in the car? No.
Car seat ready to go? The hubby installed the base last weekend.
C-section or vaginally? I am really hoping not to have a c-section, but we will see.
Do you think it will come early or late? Scheduled to go in on our anniversary, the 31st.  I wouldn't mind if she came a bit earlier though.
Biggest fear? Everything involved in labor makes me a little nervous, I am worried about breastfeeding as well.
What are you most excited for? To see what she looks like and hold my baby girl.
Looking back, do you regret anything you did during this pregnancy? I wish I would have taken more pictures, worked out more, ate healthier.  Other than that, everything has been pretty good.
Are you going to miss being pregnant? Not really, but I will miss feeling her move inside of me, that has been cool.

Final thoughts: Overall, I have had an easy pregnancy.  I never had morning sickness, stayed active, and only became uncomfortable the last month or so.  I have not been thrilled with my medical care as I have seen so many different people and they all told me something different, which definitely stressed me out.  It will all be worth it once I get to hold my baby girl.  The hubby and I are so excited to be parents and can't wait to be a family of four (we count the dog in our total)!

I look forward to sharing about Sadie's arrival.  Have a good week

Still here...

Just a little update...

I am still here, but I am 38 weeks pregnant and went to back to work on Thursday after lounging around all summer haha.

I am to the point where I am so very uncomfortable and more than ready for baby girl to arrive.  Patience is a virtue.

I am trying to get things set up at school before I go on maternity leave, and deflect all the comments on how big I am from people that haven't seen me in two months.  Let me know if you have any  good comebacks to those comments that are not mean per se, but people in their place.

I hope you had a great weekend--looking forward to writing more soon.  Maybe I'll be back with a newborn photo!

The end/beginning is near....

You see this right here....

It will probably be our last family photo before Sadie arrives!  Not because she will be here any day now, but more because I refuse to take any more pictures until the little one arrives.  My stomach is huge!  I am not complaining because it is well worth it, but I am feeling a little scary at the current moment.  People switch aisles to avoid me at Barnes and Nobles these days, like I am Godzilla or something.

I have been given quite the run around about when Sadie will arrive lately and what I should do for medical treatment.  I was seeing a midwife in a group type setting, but I went to the OB clinic for another concern and was told I should be seen by a doctor instead and go for non-stress tests twice a week because of gestational hypertension (no signs of preeclasmpsia, but it just needs to be watched).  When I went to a doctor appointment this week, I was told I need to go back to my midwife!  It looks like I will most likely be scheduled for induction at around 39 weeks, which is the end of August.  What I have learned from all of this is you just have to be flexible.  I can be pretty type A, but I am learning to embrace my more laid-back side.

I will be going back to work on Thursday.  I am hoping to finish up my home to do list and get some things accomplished at work before Sadie makes her debut.  We shall see....

Hope you all have a great weekend!

So What! Wednesday

Hey loves,

Today I am looking up with Life After I "Dew" for So What! Wednesday.

Today, I'm saying So What! If.....

-My hormones are out of a control.  If you just look at me the wrong way, I might freak out on you.  However, I don't think I am overreacting any of the times I have gotten annoyed.  Hello most sensitive person alive.

-I go to the doctor about four times a week.  That's just how I roll these days.

-The majority of what I talk about on the blog is my pregnancy.  I don't mean to, and I swear I have other interests, but it just takes over your brain!

-I am already stressed about the upcoming school year and it hasn't even started yet.

-I just dropped my dog by accident while trying to answer the door.  In my defense, he freaks out when the doorbell rings and was trying to get out of my hands to "attack" the bug guy.  Hopefully babies don't try to jump out of your arms!

-The thought of Honey Boo Boo's new show really excites me.

-I like the Olympics just fine and will watch from time to time, but am not as obsessed as most of my friends on Facebook.

-It's apparent Ryan Lochte is cute, but quite the douche.  Here's the proof...

-I have no idea when Sadie is due.  Every time I see a different medical professional, I get different information about what is going on with my pregnancy.  I am trying to stay sane, but I feel like I am going to pull a Jessica Simpson and be preggers for 18 months.

What are you So What'ing today?

35 Weeks

How far along? 35 weeks, 4 days

Total weight gain/loss?  32 lbs.

Maternity clothes?  Maternity shirts and pants, plus a mix of regular and maternity dresses.  I have definitely embraced maxi dresses this summer.

Stretch marks? Yes ma'am.  I thought I was going to get lucky and escape unharmed, but it wasn't to be.

Sleep?  The worst it has been through throughout the pregnancy.  I wake up several times a night, and some times can't fall back asleep.  I guess my body is getting ready for the newborn stage.

Best moment last week? We had an ultrasound and it looked like the little girl was sucking her thumb.  The bad news is that I am measuring 2 weeks ahead and the ultrasound tech estimated that Sadie already weighs 5 lbs. 14 oz.  It looks like I am on my way to a 10 pound baby!

Movement? She has less room to move, but is a strong kicker.

Food cravings?  Milk and ice cream.

Gender? Girl, Sadie Charlotte.

Labor signs? Braxton hicks contractions are occurring more often.

Belly button in/out? Out!

What I miss:  Not being pregnant (I am excited for the little girl and ready for her to be here).

What I am looking forward to: Sadie's arrival.  Finishing a few last minute things.  Spending quality time with my husband.  My sister and her family moving to NC this week!

Milestones: Almost full-term!

 35 weeks, whoa!

And my little boy Sammy, since I don't show him enough blog love.  He is sneakingly laying on our blankets since he ate his bed!

It's Okay...

... to only have 3 weeks of summer vacation left and less than half of your to do list complete.

... to not feel like going out in public so I don't have to hear from strangers how big my baby bump is.

... to dread going back to work for the same reason.

... to not have worn a bathing suit all summer.  There's always next year.

... to be completely obsessed with Etsy.

... to be overly sensitive about everything at the current moment.

... to not be able to call it a day without satisfying my sweet tooth!
