Some days I am truly reminded that you can take the girl out of New Jersey, but you can't take the Jersey out of the girl.
Today I was on my way home from work and stopped to get gas. I was about to pull in to a pump when two chubby guys in a truck cut me off and pulled in my pump. I must have given them a dirty look, but I didn't think they could really see it since I was wearing my signature oversize sunglasses.
The two cuties thought they were funny, and smugly waved to me, being ever so clever.
My initial reaction was to flip 'em off. For whatever reason, in New Jersey it is extremely socially acceptable to do that when something does offensive while driving. However, today I exercised self control and kept my fingers on the wheel and found a different spot. I am in North Carolina after all.
The finger flip for a Jersey girl is like riding a bike. You might find yourself out of practice, but it comes right back to you.
So tell me, am I only the one whose first instinct is inappropriate body language in driving situations? What would you have done?

until next year, Strikers!

I don't think you are anywhere near being the only one... but you definitely took the more 'southern' route. :)
The one fingered wave is totally acceptable here too... and I try to use it only when I don't have kids in my line of sight.
You definitely acted like the better person. :-)
I try to throw my hands up and give them 'the look' but sometimes the finger is just better depending on the situation haha but I am not only from NJ but I still live in NJ so basically, I'm just waving. No biggie LOL
That's awesome!
